Aurex Group is partnered with a market-leading international energy company looking to hire an experienced Sustainability and Biofuels professional to join their London-based commodity trading team.
Ideal candidates will come from a biofuels producer, fuel provider, trading company, or have worked closely with O&G companies in the past in a consulting, advisory, or operations capacity.
Summary:
- Serve as the key sustainability liaison to front office teams, supporting analysis and commercial strategy for low-carbon fuels.
- Position requires strong familiarity with biodiesel, HVO, and marine fuels. SAF is helpful but a priority at this time.
- Experience working for a biofuels producer, refining company, oil major, trader, or similar biofuel-sustainability-integrated business would be helpful.
- Working closely with the commercial trading teams to formulate strategy and analyze risks/exposures.
- Senior role but must be hands-on, with ability to track and interpret developments in sustainability markets and communicate as commercial insights into the trading desks (analysts, operations, etc).
- Working knowledge of Scope 1–3 emissions and relevant EU/UK sustainability regulations.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and anticipate sustainability-driven commercial opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally with trading, operations, risk, and legal teams.
- Monitor regulatory trends and sustainability developments relevant to commodity markets.
- Familiarity with sustainability platforms/technology considered a plus.
