Maintenance Operative Start Date: ASAP Location: Cambridge Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00am – 5:00pm / 9:00am – 6:00pm – You will also work 1 in 4 Saturdays, when working a Saturday you will be given the following Friday as a day off in Lieu Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum Duration: Permanent Benefits: Paid overtime at X1.5 when working over contracted hours during the week and Saturdays with double pay on Sundays, Company pension contribution, Life assurance cover. Working in a luxury environment providing carpentry, plumbing and other multi trade support you may have previously worked as a handyman or maintenance operative and are looking for a new challenge. We welcome applications from candidates with all trade background for this role. Duties: * Monitoring onsite contracts and overseeing work to ensure it is completed to a high standard. * Responsible for the reactive and planned maintenance and repairs throughout the building. * Be responsible for the planned maintenance including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing, fire extinguisher checks water hygiene flushing / temperature monitoring, shower head descaling and health & safety checks * Provide excellent customer service when speaking with colleagues and students * Undertake scheduled inspections of the rooms. * Ensure the maintenance records are up to date. * Record, log and monitor any maintenance issues that may arise within the maintenance logbook Skills and Experience Required: * High attention to detail. * Previous experience of domestic electrical/plumbing/building maintenance * Hard working and reliable. * Great communicational skills. * Having a thorough understanding of Health and Safety.
