A Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability apprentice is responsible for developing and implementing policies that promote ethical business practices, environmental consciousness, and social responsibility. They ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards, engage with stakeholders, and oversee initiatives to reduce environmental impact. For this Thames Water scheme, duties typically include: Developing policies relating to a companys ethical, sustainable and environmental responsibilities Ensuring a company has a positive impact on local communities and the environment Raising public awareness of a companys social responsibility commitments through marketing Conducting research into best practice Writing and actioning a company’s social responsibility strategy Creating partnerships with clients, employees, suppliers, charities, and other groups Ensuring that a companys policies meet legal and commercial needs Organising events for employees and their teams Encouraging links between the company and educational or charitable groups Reporting on social responsibility activity to senior managers.
