About Us:
We are a dedicated and forward-thinking provider in the process of establishing a high-quality, Ofsted-regulated children’s home in Croydon, Surrey. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people with complex needs. To help us achieve this, we are seeking an experienced and committed Responsible Individual (RI) to support our registration and oversee the strategic leadership of the service.
The Role:
As Responsible Individual, you will play a crucial leadership role in ensuring that the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards. You will work in close collaboration with the Registered Manager and senior leadership to ensure exceptional care standards and robust safeguarding practices. This role is ideally suited for an experienced RI or senior care professional seeking a flexible consultancy or part-time engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight and regulatory leadership for the children’s home
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Support the Registered Manager in achieving and maintaining high standards of care
- Represent the service during Ofsted inspections and liaise with external agencies
- Drive continuous service improvement and governance
- Monitor performance, quality, and outcomes across all areas of the home’s operation
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior management or operational role within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home
- Comprehensive understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Demonstrable experience supporting or leading Ofsted inspections
- Strong leadership, communication, and compliance skills
- Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care) is desirable
- Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references are required
