Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

We are working on behalf of a growing Poole based organisation, to recruit a Head of Environmental & Sustainability, into a newly created role within the business. As part of their expansion plans, our client is looking to double both their headcount and turnover in time, and with sustainability being at the forefront of everything they do, this innovate business is aiming for Net Zero by 2035 .

As the Head of Environmental & Sustainability , your role will report directly into the board of directors, and play a crucial part in developing, implementing and managing the Environmental & Sustainability strategy for the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implement the overarching mission to minimise the impact on the environment by working with multiple departments to integrate safe, sustainable and responsible practices into business operations.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive Environmental & Sustainability strategy within the supply chain and across the wider business.
  3. Align yourself with internal departments to integrate Environmental & Sustainability considerations into the decision-making process.
  4. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the organisation’s Scope 3 emissions, identifying key sources and developing strategies for reduction thereof.
  5. Roll out regular Environmental and Sustainability reports, disclosing key performance indicators and progress towards sustainability goals.
  6. Develop and oversee training programs to increase employee awareness of E & S principles and practices.
  7. Create a companywide committee which will allow engagement, thought and input to the E & S strategy.

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  1. Proven experience in Environmental / Sustainability management with a genuine passion.
  2. A strong understanding of Environmental and Sustainability frameworks, standards and reporting requirements.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, at all levels both within a business, and with external stakeholders.
  4. An analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  5. Understanding of ID014001.
