A well-respected, independent consultancy is looking to appoint a Fire Engineer to their growing team in Edinburgh. The successful Fire Engineer will work alongside senior engineers and compliance specialists, contributing to a wide range of residential, healthcare, heritage, and commercial projects throughout Scotland and the wider UK. The Fire Engineer\’s Role The Fire Engineer will be responsible for the design, delivery, and development of fire strategies and safety solutions. Projects range from complex refurbishments to new-build developments, and the role offers a balance of office-based design and on-site assessment. Key duties will include: Producing RIBA-stage fire strategies Conducting site inspections and advising on fire safety compliance Liaising with architects, design teams, and approval bodies Contributing to fire statement submissions and planning support Supporting junior team members and engaging in technical peer review Staying current with legislation, codes, and modelling techniques The Fire Engineer Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or similar (Building Services, Structural etc.) Strong understanding of BS 9991, BS 9999, and ADB guidance Experience working with UK Building Regulations Ideally working towards IEng/CEng or MIFireE status Strong reporting and communication skills Based in Edinburgh or within a commutable distance In Return? £40,000 – £50,000 Hybrid/flexible working options Annual CPD budget and chartership support Private healthcare and enhanced pension Paid travel and professional memberships Diverse projects and progression into senior roles If you\’re a Fire Engineer looking to grow your career, please contact Lauryn Simpson at Brandon James.
