The role
As Applications Architect at Audley Travel, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-level robust, scalable solutions for our internal business applications. Your role will ensure that our internal systems are efficient, integrated, and aligned with our business objectives. You will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to create optimal solution designs, enhancing operational efficiency and internal user satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Solution Design: Develop high-level application and integration solution designs for internal business applications, collaborating with internal and external design, development, and engineering teams.
- Integration: Ensure seamless integration of various internal applications to support business operations and processes.
- Design Reviews: Conduct regular design review sessions within projects to ensure technical/low-level design and delivery align with solution designs.
- Architectural Policies: Contribute to and adopt architectural policies, patterns, and standards.
- Catalog Maintenance: Maintain Architecture Building Blocks and catalogs related to applications and integrations.
- Collaboration: Work with business data and information security specialists to incorporate all domains and technical aspects into application designs and roadmaps.
- Risk Management: Identify and raise appropriate risks, maintain a technical debt register, and ensure regular reviews by the Technical Design Authority (TDA).
- Vendor Management: Assist with technical due diligence for new technology contracts and review existing supplier offerings to align with Audley\’s strategic roadmaps.
What we’re looking for:
You will have a strong background in application and solution design within Microsoft Azure and Salesforce along with experience across a range of application domains such as CRM, Travel Reservations, ERP, and HR.
- Proven experience in cloud-first application architecture and solution design, including segmentation and decoupling of cloud applications through the use of middleware.
- Ability to translate business requirements and processes into effective solution designs.
- Stakeholder management and influencing with all levels from C-suite minus 1 level to operators.
- Commercial understanding and a track record of driving business innovation through technology.
- In-depth knowledge of security by design principles and patterns.
- Up-to-date knowledge of technology trends.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Pragmatic and collaborative, able to balance strategic goals with tactical decisions when necessary.
