This is an astonishing opportunity for a DIRECTOR-LEVEL business leader to join one of the most successful tech investment companies in the world as the business develops strongly in Latin America. The opportunity is located in Mexico City and requires a fluent English/Spanish speaker. You will leverage your senior operational experience as a previous business owner, unit Director or Country Manager in order to guide a portfolio of 4-7 acquired businesses into profitability/stability.
As such, you will be supporting each business's existing senior team on all aspects of running a business, from HR, tax, strategic growth opportunities etc., and will step in as the "locum Managing Director" where necessary. Itβs a fantastic and unusual opportunity, and the role is incredibly varied as you will work with an ever-changing portfolio of companies that you will mentor and support post-acquisition.
Duties:
- Manage a portfolio of 4-7 acquired companies in line with company strategy in Mexico.
- Operationally manage and lead cross-functional, collaborative work stream execution efforts, with both local and global business executives.
- Coach and guide local Managing Directors in company best practices and help them achieve mastery within their respective domain.
- Lead the integration of newly acquired companies (e.g. help around negotiation, due diligence, financials, valuations and market).
- Track record of dealing with operational improvement, change and turnarounds.
- Deliver operational training sessions for all business units within the portfolio.
- Nurture senior talent within your portfolio to build long-term succession plans.
- Manage due diligence topics to aid the smooth transition for newly acquired companies.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree educated.
- 5+ years relevant operational experience.
- Previous operational experience in running a business, business unit (P&L).
- English to native standard. Fluent Spanish. Other languages are useful (French, German, Italian etc.).
- Based in Mexico City.
- Some previous exposure to M&A activity.
