Software Engineer (Rust/Go) – High Performance Data Infrastructure – UAE “I’ve never seen new data sets approved for budget as quickly as here.” – Head of Data Infrastructure, UAE. A bold, yet true claim from a trading firm based in the UAE who are scaling an engineering team whhich will be building high-performance data infrastructure from the ground up using Rust/Go. These data sets are incorporated into live trading models by Quantitative Researchers, who are in the fortunate position of having the budget for them signed off, almost immediately. What does this mean for the Engineers? You will have a steady stream of work in the years to come; building infrastructure to handle streaming terabytes of different types of data You have the opportunity to come in at the ground level of a team, who have a large amount of intellectual freedom to build a platform from scratch. As such, this will enable you to play to your strengths most effectively! You will be responsible for: Building a scalable and reliable high performance data platforms to support efficient data processing and analysis using Rust or Go Creating and maintaining robust systems that handle large volumes of data which scale with business requirements Collaborate with Quantitative Researchers to ensure successful integration of new data sources into their trading and risk models The team is looking for SWEs with: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) Prior experience building high-throughput infrastructure using a statically typed programming language Knowledge of using technologies like Kafka for real-time data streaming This role would require relocation to the UAE.
