RLE International is working on behalf of their Essex based Automotive Client, who are currently looking for a Dyno Technician to support and join their expanding team.

Position Description:

Rate: £29.36 (Via Umbrella PAYE)

Dyno Technician Interface to Build Bay, Dyno Prep Area, Workshop, Instrumentation, Stores, Shipping and test facilities as required to achieve set tasks/goals.

Skills Required:

  • Work as a member of a team to keep Dyno Engines updated with correct level h/w and controls and running, across several Test Rooms.
  • Arrange installation of required instrumentation with relevant workshop groups on certain parts that will then be fitted to the Dyno Engines.
  • Liaise with Vehicle and Apps teams to validate Dyno/Rig kit BOMs and to ensure that these are ordered/delivered in time to support relevant testing, along with sufficient spares.
  • Arranging Critical Parts and equipment as required to Support Dyno Homologation Testing.
  • Power and Smoke as well as Heavy Duty Dyno Emissions Cert.
  • Carry out administrative duties - documentation of Engines, instrumentation, Spare parts, Exhausts/Catalysts used for Dyno testing, shipping documentation, requisitioning equipment and materials to support dyno testing at Dunton and elsewhere on some occasions.
  • Forward planning of Engines, rig kits and instrumentation to ensure mount dates are achieved.
  • Cross functional working with D&R engineers to ensure critical dyno systems - cooling circuits, wiring looms etc are understood and documented for dyno use (debug document).
  • Plan and oversee catalyst aging program to ensure correctly aged catalysts are available for each VPSE program as required. Store and document said catalysts.
  • Liaise with Program Emissions engineers and planners.

Skills Preferred:

  • Ability to use Team Centre to extract installation and component information, or willingness to learn.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in Dyno testing and Powertrain Calibration activities.

Experience Preferred:

  • Ability to Log data using calibration tools, update controls modules as required.

Education Required:

  • Engineering related.

  • INSIDE IR35.
