Our client, a well-established engineering business, is currently seeking a reliable and detail-focused Stores Person to join their busy team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has a strong eye for detail, and is keen to develop within a supportive and dynamic environment.
The Role: Working within a fast-paced workshop, you'll play a key role in the inspection, tracking, storage and preparation of mechanical and electrical components. The role also involves general administration, stock control, and occasional driving duties (including use of a forklift β training provided).
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Receiving and inspecting incoming goods
- Carrying out quality and compliance checks using measuring tools
- Preparing and masking goods ready for paint and dispatch
- Stock control, issuing goods, and assisting with stock checks
- Updating purchase order receipt status using internal systems
- Supporting with workshop housekeeping and general admin tasks
- Providing cover for the Stores Supervisor when required
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A methodical and organised approach to work
- A good level of computer literacy
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality
- willingness to learn and take on new tasks
Desirable Experience (Not Essential):
- Familiarity with engineering drawings
- Use of standard measuring tools (e.g. tape measures, calipers)
- Experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or similar environments
- Knowledge of inspection standards such as ATEX, PD5500, ASME or PED
