Responsible Investment Officer – Maternity Cover IGA Talent Solutions are partnered with a large Defined Benefit (final salary) pension scheme in the midlands, who are looking to recruit a responsible investment officer on a contract basis. The role is cover for an existing team member who is due on maternity leave in the new year, with a reasonable handover period on either side, and accordingly expected to last 12 – 18 months. The responsible investment officer is tasked with developing the fund\’s sustainability strategy. The strategy has been designed by the investment team and is in place, and we\’re looking for someone to manage the ongoing implementation, whilst seeking opportunities to improve, evolve and promote the strategy both internally and externally. You\’ll also be tasked with monitoring their progress against the Climate Change framework, enabling their progression towards net zero targets. You\’ll update relevant stakeholders on your progress and work with colleagues to ensure the strategy meets regulatory requirements. Providing responsible investment advice to the investment director and head of the pension scheme Developing, implementing, and monitoring the responsible investment strategy Reviewing the success of the strategy, adapting and developing further where required Updating the framework and ensuring regulatory compliance is met Planning the RI program of work Carrying out RI research, identifying new opportunities and initiatives Embedding RI into the investment management process, working with portfolio management The ideal candidate will have 4 – 8 years of experience and be familiar with the regulatory landscape UK final salary/defined pension schemes operate in. This is a key requirement and we are unable to progress any applications without previous experience in this area. In addition to the essential pensions knowledge, we\’re looking for a passionate advocate for responsible investing, driven by clear purpose, with a passion to make a difference. This is a large fund with Multi-Β£bn in AUM and represents a great opportunity to direct significant flows of capital into sustainable ventures. Relevant candidates will have experience in institutional investment advisory, institutional asset management, fiduciary management, or at an asset owner.
