TWO LEGAL COUNSEL ROLES – 1-3 YEARS’ PQE
FULL TIME
LONDON/HYBRID
Our client, a leading international distributor of television programming and formats, is seeking two dynamic Legal Counsel to join their top quality Legal and Business Affairs team.
You will play a crucial role in supporting all aspects of the company’s operations worldwide. These full-time positions offer flexibility to engage with various facets of business affairs, including rights in, acquisitions, formats, sales, etc. The team is very friendly and supportive, and you will be made to feel welcome from day one.
The two roles will work closely with senior counsel and the entire legal and business affairs team across:
First RoleContent (Non-Scripted Acquisitions):
- Collaborate with the Production and Content team, offering legal and commercial advice on acquiring distribution rights.
- Negotiate distribution agreements, focusing on group-produced programs.
- Advise on formats and licensing.
- Provide internal stakeholders with commercial and legal advice to minimize risk and maximize opportunities.
Second RoleSales:
- Advise the Content Sales team on legal and commercial matters for global content exploitation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate licensing agreements for TV, digital, format, and ancillary rights.
- Consumer products, advertising, and branding matters.
There is likely to be some fluidity between the two roles, depending on the deal pipeline. In both cases, you will have around 1-3 years’ PQE, or equivalent.
You should have media industry (ideally TV) business affairs experience, with knowledge of TV, copyright, and contract law, strong legal skills, clear communication, high organization, initiative, teamwork, attention to detail, and commercial acumen. This is a very successful company, and you will have amazing access to high-quality programmes and plenty of opportunities for career progression and development.
