What the day will look like
As an Executive Director, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients at a c-suite level.
  2. Develop and implement an accessible compliance and risk management advisory service to our law firm clients based in the UK, Offshore and the UK offices of those based elsewhere who might require Aon’s services.
  3. Act as a role model in the business by consistently demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and quality.
  4. Accountable for maintaining and improving client satisfaction.
  5. Good understanding of Aon products and ability to bring in relevant colleagues to respond to insurance queries clients may have.
  6. Participate in new business pitches to articulate the value of the risk and compliance services on offer.
  7. Present and lead panel discussions at conferences on risk and compliance related subjects.
  8. Write risk and compliance related articles 3-4 times a year for Aon newsletters.
  9. Share relevant developments in the risk industry with the team in both the UK and globally.
  10. Support the retail team on complex client risk matters in the changing regulatory environment.

This role is also a management role, working as part of the leadership team, which includes responsibilities for:

  1. Compliance with regulatory requirements including the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime as well as Aon’s business procedures.
  2. Planning and strategic development of the Professional Services team.
  3. Effectively managing, developing, mentoring and motivating a team of colleagues on a day-to-day basis.
  4. Leading projects which are for the benefit of the Professional Services team and the clients.
  5. Working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Your skills will ideally include:

  1. Educated to Degree level or equivalent. A professional qualification relevant to our client base while not essential would be an advantage.
  2. Experience of dealing with large professional service firms at senior management level and have a detailed understanding of the key risk exposures faced by professional service firms.
  3. Credibility in front of professional service firm clients.
  4. Leadership capability and proven experience (and commitment to further developing leadership skills).
  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  6. Strong client management relationship skills.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to manage, motivate, and coach direct reports.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  10. Strong business acumen.
