Profile

Deputy Chief Compliance Officer. As part of an innovative team, you will work with the UK Regional Leadership Team to drive the compliance agenda across the business. You will be responsible for leading all compliance activity and providing strategic direction for the team that is aligned to the UK businesses’ growth ambitions.

Your impact as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer

Executive Management

  1. Responsible for the strategic leadership of compliance related activity across the UK businesses.
  2. Proactively question the various businesses’ status quo against a backdrop of ever-changing regulation.
  3. Key role in identifying, setting up, and running regulatory programmes across the businesses.
  4. Participate on businesses steering committees in an SME and challenge capacity, often working alongside the UK COO.
  5. Work closely with the UK CEO and the UK Chief of Staff on key FCA and regulatory/compliance matters.
  6. Establish Aon public policy where required on regulatory topics working with the Public Policy team.
  7. Partner with colleagues to produce excellent management information for all key UK committees and programmes.
  8. Provide strong strategic direction for the Financial Crime team and supervise its day-to-day operations.
  9. Exhibit strong commercial and strategic leadership on Corporate L&C programmes or in cross-regional working groups.
  10. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the leadership across each solution line and geography.
  11. Drive a commercial perspective on the risk versus reward dynamic of each engagement.

Team Management

  1. Ensure the UK Compliance team construct is well structured, efficient, and adaptable to the business’ needs.
  2. Define the respective roles and responsibilities of the team.
  3. Provide clear strategic direction to the team as a whole and each department within it.
  4. Build the team’s annual plan in partnership with senior leadership.

Regulators

  1. Lead Aon’s relationship with the FCA across all Aon businesses.
  2. Invest in a thoughtful relationship with the Supervisory team.
  3. Coordinate all communication and provision of data to the FCA.
  4. Help other Aon functions lead supervisory and regulatory relationships such as the ICO, NCA, etc.

Reporting

  1. Produce quality and timely reports to governance committees across Aon.
  2. Ensure the Compliance team produces targeted and valuable content for the right audience.

EMEA Senior Leadership Team

  1. Active member of the UK & EMEA Senior Leadership Team.
  2. Collaborate and demonstrate knowledge and content with other leadership team members.

  2. Must be comfortable challenging the status quo of the organisation.
  3. Dynamic and proactive, bringing energy and passion to risk & compliance subjects.
  4. Excellent people engagement skills and experience of influencing a multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Strong experience of working in a cross-functional environment.
  6. Detailed knowledge of financial services industry and reasonable knowledge of regulation.
  7. Excellent oral/written communication, planning, project management, and networking skills.
  8. Excellent partner management, relationship building, and influencing skills at senior management level.
  9. Ability to represent Aon with FCA and other regulators.
