About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical and analytical skills, particularly in long-term financial modelling and scenario planning. You will work closely with senior leaders to help shape the future of the business, focusing on cash flow forecasting, resource planning, and strategic insights.

Delivering Impact: Your Role

This is not a traditional FP&A role; rather, it focuses on helping the firm understand and plan for the long-term structure, resourcing, and financial dynamics of the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data and models to shape the big picture. If you thrive in an intellectually curious, collaborative environment and want to help shape the future of the firm, we’d love to hear from you.

The role's responsibilities include:

  • Financial Modelling & Forecasting: Build, maintain, and enhance long-term financial models (3-5 years). Forecast revenues, resources, costs, and cash flow under a range of scenarios. Support strategic planning with robust modelling tools and analytical insights. Lead efforts to upskill the Finance Team in technical modelling capabilities, enabling broader understanding and ownership of both existing and newly developed models.
  • Performance Insight & Strategic Support: Work with the ExCo to define and refine metrics and models that inform long-term business planning. Develop resourcing and capacity models to support decision-making about future business shape. Provide analytical support for strategic business cases and planning sessions.
  • Finance Systems & Data Transformation: Play a key role in the implementation of Workday Financials, understanding reporting requirements, helping develop reporting structures and improve access to real-time data. Work with the finance and systems teams to shape Workday Financials in line with reporting and planning needs.

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following qualities and expertise for this role:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel modelling (including nested formulas, pivot tables, scenario tools, macros)
  • Experience with long-term financial or operational modelling
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in translating data into business insights
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders across the business

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow) and core accounting principles
  • Knowledge of Workday Financials
  • Experience supporting system transitions or data transformation projects
  • Familiarity with data tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Exposure to SQL or Python for advanced data manipulation (desirable but not required)
  • Degree in a quantitative field (finance, economics, computer science, engineering, etc.)

The Benefits of Joining Our Team:

At Frontier Economics, we are entirely employee-owned, meaning every team member has a voice in shaping the company's future. Our collaborative culture encourages innovation, open dialogue, and shared success. Our stimulating and thought-provoking projects are complemented by a supportive and dynamic work environment, designed to help you thrive and grow. We also offer:

  • Hybrid Working: Employees are expected to work in the office at least two days a week, with flexibility for remote work.
  • Holiday Entitlement: 28 days of annual leave, plus public holidays, with the option to purchase up to 10 additional days of holiday per year.
  • Parental Pay: Enhanced parental pay of up to 2 months of full pay and bonus for primary carers.
  • Learning & Development: Extensive L&D opportunities, including Career Development Reviews with support from a dedicated Mentor.
  • Private Health Insurance: Fully covered AXA health insurance with optional family coverage (partners' premiums and taxes paid by the employee; children included at no extra cost). Additional cover (e.g., optical, dental) can be added at the employee's expense.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): Free, confidential support for work-life balance, health, family issues, or job-related challenges, available for you and your immediate family members.
  • Income Protection Insurance: All employees are covered by Frontier's Group Income Protection Scheme for long-term illness or disability.
  • Life Insurance: Company-funded Group Life Assurance Scheme, covering all permanent employees from their start date.
