This is a full-time role as a Head of Estimator in Staffordshire. The head of estimating will assess project requirements, estimate costs, and prepare bids for interior fitting projects. They will work closely with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive estimates are provided.
Qualifications:
- Estimating, Costing, and Bidding skills
- Knowledge of joinery processes and materials
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the joinery industry
- Proficiency in relevant software and technology
Estimating Management:
- Develop skills and ideas in conjunction with Directors
- Take lead on Sales Meetings and coordinate with Commercial Director and BDM to maximise opportunities to secure projects
- Undertake Appraisals of staff working for your team on an annual basis or as required
- Develop processes and procedures to drive improvements and efficiencies within your team
- Manage estimating staff to ensure they have enough work to carry out and the general workload within the estimating team is productive and efficient
- Attend Prestart Meetings and Post Tender Reviews to discuss schemes
- Undertake Risk and Commercial Reviews of Preferential Key Schemes (Top Jobs) with Commercial Director
- Manage the estimates to hit annual targets in terms of sales turnover, profit, and production hours in conjunction with Commercial Director
- Allocate time to training estimators and increasing their knowledge and skills
