Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years. Our client now has a requirement for an experienced CMM Operator.
We are currently recruiting for a CMM Inspector within the Machining-Quality Department. After initial training this role will be working a Double Day Shift pattern in the Inspection Room.
The role:
- Program & operate our Zeiss Prismo CMM inspection machines.
- Complete independent Diametric & Geometric checks on both WIP & finished parts using the Zeiss CMM machines in the inspection room.
- Communicate any discrepancies with operators & team leaders.
- Recheck adjusted work for compliance to drawing & SOP requirements.
- Read & interpret Zeiss Calypso results & relate to machining activities.
- Collate data to liaise & aid in improvement activities with Machining Process Engineers.
The person:
- Quality & productivity focused, confident, flexible & highly motivated.
- Good communication skills are essential.
- Adept in Problem Solving.
- Good skills in mathematics, specifically trigonometry.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of operating CMM machines.
- Have an understanding in how to navigate Windchill or similar PLM systems.
- Understand & can interpret engineering drawings.
Desirable Criteria:
- Program CMM’s from drawings on 3D models.
- Have HNC or similar engineering qualification.
