Vehicle Dismantler

We are currently looking for a dedicated Vehicle Dismantler to join our team in Doncaster.

Dismantlers are core to our parts recycling process and responsible for the removal of parts, engines, gear boxes.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Dismantling parts in line with job requests, locate appropriate vehicle, assess work required and organise forklift to remove vehicle from ramp to floor or stand
  • Identify and locate part required, remove part, ensuring no damage to other parts of vehicle, check quality, model numbers etc.
  • Complete relevant records (job request, log sheet etc.), mark up, tag and bag each part with stock number and vehicle details, place in designated order area in accordance with agreed standards
  • Label each part with the engine size, year of car, make and model, store appropriately and arrange for parts to be recorded on database
  • Liaise with colleagues (e.g. Parts Sales Team, Parts Checkers, other Dismantlers) to provide advice, obtain further information, update information and resolve problems
  • Access database system to obtain further information on parts as required
  • Strip and scrap vehicles in accordance with company standards, procedures and specific requirements
  • Open cars that have been deadlocked, locate electronic vehicle components e.g. ECUs, airbags, etc.
  • Assist with the fulfilment of export orders as required
  • Ensure that all paperwork and electronic records are completed accurately and on time
  • Use your own allocated van to complete jobs and drop off parts
  • Provide cover for any other appropriate and any other duties as may be required
  • Here’s what you bring:

  • Experience working with cars either mechanical & body panels
  • Knowledge of checking oils and other hazardous chemicals
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Provision of own tools
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy weights in a safe manner
  • Able to work outdoors in all weathers
