Ensure that all structural and civil works on large, complex construction projects are executed in strict accordance with contract scope, specifications, drawings, and industry standards. Provide expert support to project delivery teams in the creation and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality control checklists, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the approval process for materials and products, ensuring adherence to Regulation 31 of The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016 and all relevant industry regulations.
- Assist in the development and review of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to maintain rigorous quality standards.
- Oversee construction activities related to structural concrete and roadworks, conducting independent checks to verify build quality and compliance.
- Develop comprehensive quality forms and checklists for critical construction phases, including concrete works, civil engineering, and pipeline construction.
- Monitor and evaluate project delivery teams' quality control activities, ensuring that standards are met and maintained.
- Coordinate closely with the NEC Supervisor for inspections and test witnessing, ensuring timely verification and approval of work stages.
- Systematically track and validate completion of all tests, inspections, and associated records, guaranteeing full compliance with established ITPs.
- Manage quality documentation, test results, and ensure timely distribution to relevant stakeholders.
- Act as the key liaison between designers, clients, and client representatives, including the Construction Engineer, to maintain quality oversight throughout all phases.
- Participate in design reviews, ensuring constructability and adherence to quality requirements from concept through to final execution.
- Proactively address non-conformance issues, working with engineering and project management teams to resolve defects and implement quality improvements.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive experience in large-scale, complex construction projects, with particular focus on structural concrete and road construction.
- Strong record-keeping and data management skills to ensure accurate documentation of all inspections and testing activities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to quality management, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices throughout construction phases.
- Working knowledge of construction techniques, particularly within the water infrastructure sector (desirable).
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven track record of delivering quality assurance on major construction projects.
- Hands-on experience with structural concrete works, roads, and civil engineering processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and construction management platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction (Degree/HNC or equivalent).
- CSCS Card (Manager or Academically Qualified).
- Valid Full Driving Licence.
