The Finance Division at the University of Oxford are looking to add a Finance Reports Support Officer to their team, a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support the development and improvement of finance reporting tools, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.
Location: Great Clarendon Street, Oxford with the option of some hybrid/remote working
Salary: ÂŁ34,982 - ÂŁ40,855 per annum

About the Role
This role reports to the Reporting Manager but requires close working and cooperation within the Finance Analytics Team within the Financial Processes, Systems and Assurance (FPSA) team and external third-party suppliers. The role will mainly focus on managing the specifications and supporting the development of new or updated reports by testing development work and assisting end users with reporting queries that come through the first-line Support Desk within FPSA, including but not limited to: reporting solutions (currently: SplashBI, Excel Connect and SplashGL), finance analytics tools, configuration and maintenance, and Excel macros.
This role will be pivotal to completing the major finance reporting improvements from future EBS projects, and taking over the support and advice on reporting solutions for stakeholders, senior managers, colleagues within the Finance Division and users of Finance services in departments: principal investigators and finance users. The post-holder will be required to work independently, using their own initiative to manage small-scale projects relating to new tools and features, user support, and Finance Analytics tools and reports.
About You
The Finance Reports Support Officer must have a thorough, “hands-on” approach to technology, have the ability and aptitude to respond to needs and an enthusiastic interest in reporting solutions and its application to business today. The following skills are essential:
- Strong knowledge of reporting services, from a business perspective, with a clear understanding of the role of and need for high-quality financial management reporting.
- Oracle applications experience particularly in E-business suite (EBS) and Projects; accounts payable, iProcurement as well as, including the processes and functionality across all the EBS modules.
- Proven teamwork skills, especially in communicating with users holding a wide range of financial skills and working with people at all levels in the organisation.
- Have a flexible, organised and committed approach to their work.
- A proven ability to work under pressure, and to plan, prioritise and organise work to meet key deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and to be able to communicate across all levels in the University.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience of using other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
Desirable selection criteria
- Demonstrable experience of ITIL-aligned change processes.
- Experience of working in the higher education sector or other large complex reporting environment.
