Our client, a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, fabrication, and installation of steelwork for some of the UK’s most high-profile and demanding construction projects, is seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to join their dynamic and growing team.
About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering accurate and detailed drawings for a wide range of projects. From staircases and balustrades to secondary steelwork, your designs will help shape major construction developments across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings aligned to datum points and grid lines
- Create detailed fabrication drawings for manufacture
- Design components such as staircases, balustrades, and secondary steelwork
- Use a variety of CAD platforms: AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks
- Liaise effectively with customers, suppliers, and the wider project team
- Work independently and take initiative in solving design challenges
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Tekla
- Strong understanding of design principles and fabrication requirements
- Ability to work from own initiative and communicate clearly
Preferred:
- Experience in the metalwork and steelwork industry
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor
