Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director / Project Director to lead and manage high-profile projects within the sports and entertainment sectors. The successful candidate will be a proven leader, capable of managing large-scale, complex projects from concept through to completion. You will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class venues and events, building strong relationships with clients, and driving new business opportunities. As a senior leader in the project team, you will provide expertise in Project Management, Contract Administration, Cost Management, Design Management, and Employer’s Agent services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the full project lifecycle and will bring substantial experience in delivering major projects in the sports and entertainment sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile sports and entertainment projects (stadia, arenas, training centres, and cultural venues) across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
- Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships and successful delivery that aligns with client objectives and expectations.
- Project Delivery: Oversee all project phases, from initial concept design through RIBA stages to construction completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Contract and Risk Management: Provide expert contract administration, manage project risk, and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Financial and Cost Control: Manage project budgets, control costs, and report financial performance to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Business Development: Leverage an existing industry network to identify and secure future business opportunities, actively contributing to the growth of the team and company portfolio.
- Leadership: Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the project teams.
Key Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale sports and entertainment venues.
- Strong knowledge of the RIBA Design and Construction stages and hands-on experience leading projects through these phases.
- Experience in contract administration, cost management, and design management.
- Proven leadership experience, having led multidisciplinary teams and projects from inception to completion.
- A respected name within the industry, with a wide network and strong relationships across the sports and entertainment sectors.
- Previous experience in a senior consulting or client-side development role is essential.
- Ability to work across international locations and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
