Polar Speed, a UPS company, is a logistics company and innovative provider of temperature sensitive transportation and pharmaceutical supply chain solutions in the UK.
As an Accuracy Checking Technician working within the in-house pharmacy, you will be responsible for providing accurate final checking on homecare prescriptions and providing technical dispensing assistance to the Responsible Pharmacists.
Working 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 0800 and 1800 on a split shift basis, you must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours as and when required to meet our service requirements which may be of an urgent medical nature.
NVQ Level 3 qualification is essential for this role.

Key responsibilities:- Comply with all required GPhC standards for registration as an Accuracy Checking Technician
- To carry out final checking of dispensed items in accordance with approved protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Supervise and participate in the dispensing and supply of medical products in accordance with the requirements of: The Medicine Act, Medicines, Ethics and Practice guide, Good Distribution Practice.
- Ensure all activities meet and integrate with Quality Management Systems, Health and Safety requirements, COSHH regulations and environmental policies.
- Actively drive the Clinical Governance standards within the Pharmacy services
- Assist in all regular performance audits
- Actively participate in the training and development of the Pharmacy team
- Meticulous and thorough with an excellent attention to details
- Demonstrate influencing skills to ensure highest standards
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, whilst motivating others to achieve success.
- Self motivated to deliver continuous improvements, whilst demonstrating a clear patient focus
- Demonstrate self audit and accept responsibility for actions
