Job Description Exciting opportunity for a Director, Infrastructure and Project Finance with a leading UK Corporate & Investment Bank in London. Our client is looking for a director to play a leading role in developing and driving forward the infrastructure and project finance strategy whilst creating significant realizable origination opportunities from a proven network of advisors, corporates, and sponsors in the market. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned project finance specialist and recognized leader in the sector to join our leadership team. Primary responsibility includes leading origination activities in sourcing, structuring, and implementing highly sophisticated structured project finance deals in all sectors (Core and Core+), including Transportation, Midstream, Renewables, Power, Digital Infrastructure, Regulated Utilities, and Social Infrastructure. The role requires extensive engagement with clients (existing clients, new to bank, Financial Sponsors, Advisors, Lending community including both traditional banks and Institutional Investors) and internal partners (Credit, Asset Management, Coverage, Rates, Capital Markets, Ratings Advisory, and Legal). Your accountabilities will include: Lead alongside the other Directors in the origination and structuring of infrastructure and project finance transactions that support the core franchise, providing a magnificent client experience and ensuring full alignment with the bank’s credit and investment policy. Act as Deal Captain for transactions, collaborating closely with all internal and external partners as needed and taking ownership of driving forward internal processes to deliver successful financial close on transactions. Act as a mentor for junior I&PF talent, providing significant guidance and teaching for junior members of staff and developing their abilities appropriately. Build and maintain an internal network, ensuring close interaction with Product Partners, Credit, Coverage, Asset Management, and Legal to ensure the strategy and business development activity carried out within the I&PF business is appropriately aligned. Establish outstanding relationships with new and existing clients, sponsors, and advisors to enhance the I&PF and Bank’s reputation and propose procurement of new business in line with agreed business plans. Lead deal teams in the presentation and preparation of credit/investment committee applications, internal reports, and marketing material. Maintain a dedicated commitment to and enthusiasm for continued learning across a wide range of different I&PF asset classes, banking products, finance structures, and roles. The Successful Applicant What we’ll need from you: Extensive knowledge of the Infrastructure and Energy sector with solid experience in lending and/or advisory, matched with an outstanding transaction deal sheet with reference to the UK. Proven deal experience acting as an underwriter, lead structuring bank, or advisor with recent transactions closed. Outstanding network of contacts and strong rapport across the sector including Sponsors, Advisors, Banks, and Institutional Investors. Full knowledge and understanding of the structured finance market and different financing structures – Project Finance, WBS, Hybrid financing, Debt Capital Market offerings (Bond, USPP, ITL, Underwriting), PP, and knowledge of Rates product (Swaps, FX). Understanding of the regulatory and compliance requirements affecting Banks and specifically Project Finance. Particular deal experience in the Energy and/or Digital Infrastructure sectors would be helpful. What’s on Offer The package will be competitive.
