We have global ambitions – no small thinking here.Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join Calo Kitchen team in the UK. In this role, you will work closely with both the Kitchen Manager and Head Chef to ensure seamless daily operations, uphold food quality standards, lead and develop the kitchen team, contribute to menu preparation, process optimisation, and manage ordering and stocking of ingredients, supplies, and kitchen inventory.The ideal candidate will bring both culinary expertise and strong leadership, playing a pivotal role in maintaining excellence across the kitchen and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.Main Responsibilities Oversee and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, safely, and meets high quality standardsSupport the Kitchen Manager and Head Chef in food preparation planning, execution, and supervisionTake charge of a designated section or supervise an entire shift within kitchen operationsManage, train, and support kitchen staff across various sectionsSchedule shifts, delegate responsibilities, and assess team performanceClearly communicate daily tasks and goals to the teamMonitor inventory, manage ordering, and control kitchen costsEnforce sanitation and health & safety regulations in compliance with UK standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with colleagues and team membersContribute to plating design and ensure dishes meet visual and taste standardsAssist in implementing best practices for kitchen workflow and production processesIdeal Candidate Qualifications 8+ years of experience in the hospitality, catering, or food production industryProven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume or production-based kitchenPrevious experience in a food manufacturing or central kitchen facility is a strong plusStrong command of English with excellent communication skillsCurrently based in the UK and able to reliably commute or relocate to NW10 7PR (London)Knowledge and Competency Demonstrated experience in managing kitchen teams and operationsStrong understanding of kitchen sections and production flowsAbility to lead by example, divide responsibilities, and track performanceFamiliar with food safety standards and HACCP proceduresUp-to-date with culinary trends, dietary preferences, and process optimizationProficient in kitchen software systems and Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google WorkplacePersonality A strong and clear communicator with a pleasant and professional demeanorEmpathetic leader who fosters a collaborative and supportive kitchen environmentHighly organized and dependable, with a passion for operational excellence
