We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, a well-established civil engineering firm with national coverage. They are looking for an experienced and ambitious Planner or Project Manager looking to move into planning to provide support to sites teams in ensuring that project programmes are current, consistent and accurate by regular interface with the project site management and regional management teams. The primary role is to prepare and communicate project programmes and to manage change on the programmes in accordance with the NEC contract requirements The ideal candidate will have a wide experience of working on civil engineering sites with an engineering or site management background. The role may suit someone who has reached Site Agent or PM level who possesses planning expertise and wants to focus more on this technical role moving forward. Key duties: Each month, forensically review each project program, ensuring change is being captured and appropriately recorded. Ensure that programs are regularly updated to meet contractual requirements, as built records, and progress. Review two-weekly look-ahead programmes. Review site records including contractual notices and communications in relation to programme matters. Ensure programme submissions and acceptance is contractually compliant. Review project change register in parallel with the works delivered and the contract. Review the project risk & opportunities register. Assist the site team to contractually protect programme entitlement and facilitate EOT claims. Provide advice and assistance on planning, programming, methods of construction and solutions to engineering problems.Required Skills: Excellent communication skills and a good working knowledge of MS Project, Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6. Experience managing construction programmes using the NEC for of contract and have highways experience. This is a site based and/or regional office-based role focusing on our work in Kent and Sussex, with a requirement to travel to sites in the south east region.
