Roc Search are looking for an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Azure, Azure DevOps, and related technologies to join an exciting fast-paced Fintech startup client in London. The successful candidate will work alongside their Lead Systems Engineer. In this role, you’ll implement, manage, and support mission-critical, client-facing Azure environment using best practices in Infrastructure as Code, container orchestration, automation, CI/CD, and disaster recovery - all within a collaborative, fast-paced setting. This will be suited for a Mid Level Engineer with 2-5 years of DevOps experience.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and configure scalable, highly available, and secure Azure hosted solutions
- Provide support for business-critical infrastructure resources and application components, across development, test and client production environments
- Manage Entra ID for secure identity management and access control
- Configure, maintain and manage Azure Kubernetes clusters, that host cloud-native applications
- Configure, maintain and manage CI/CD tooling, branch policies and pipeline agents
- Respond and investigate security alerts generated by Microsoft Sentinel
- Configure and maintain end user compute policies with Microsoft Intune
- Maintain and contribute to the security and compliance plan, including regular involvement in penetration testing, escrow deposits, backup verification and BCP testing
- Work across development and production environments, independently, with colleagues and with third-party suppliers, to ensure robust application performance
- Monitor and support our production platform, conduct troubleshooting whilst collaborating with the Development team, and resolving issues within the agreed service level agreements (SLAs)
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure, alongside Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)
- Proven knowledge of configuring and managing Azure SQL, Service Bus, AKS Clusters, Container Registries, Entra ID, SignalR and Azure Networking technologies
- Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm) is essential
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and leveraging automation tools to streamline deployments and operations
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell and YAML for configuration management and automated deployments
- Applied experience of designing and implementing disaster recovery plans with low RTO and RPOs
- Great attention to detail, and meticulous in every aspect of the day-to-day work
- Excellent written and verbal communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with incident, monitoring and alert management, following ITIL processes
- Strong understanding of security and data protection practices
- Strong experience in DevOps practices such as continuous integration and deployment, and proficiency with Git and branching strategies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Desirable Requirements:
- Familiarity with SQL, with the ability to understand schemas and write basic queries
- Understanding of authentication and authorisation protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML), and the various flows available for different scenarios
- Familiarity with REST and gRPC APIs, event-driven architecture and microservice patterns
