Low Carbon Recruitment Ltd are currently working with an established renewable energy company who are seeking a permanent Roofer to carry out Solar PV installations in the Midlands area. The company has been established for over 15 years, specializing in the installation of renewable energy systems in domestic and light commercial properties. They are currently experiencing a consistent period of growth having doubled in turnover in the past 5 years, currently turning over GBP100m and completing 400 solar installations per month with circa 300 employees in the UK.
Within the role, you will work in a two-man team alongside an experienced Electrician, installing Solar PV systems on private domestic and social housing properties within the Midlands area. You will work as a team to complete installations, installing and fixing the panels and running the cables through, which the electrician will then wire up and commission the system. Most systems range between 6-14 panels and some jobs will have a battery storage system in addition.
The company has been installing PV systems for over 10 years and has 50+ crews working nationwide. They aim to make each install as simple as possible for their Engineers. All sites are technically surveyed prior to the installation starting, all scaffolding and required infrastructure will be set up prior to the team's arrival, and all materials are delivered to site with some surplus to keep as spares/van stock.
You will operate within a 2-hour (maximum) radius of your location with all travel time paid. The role is mobile with a company van and fuel card provided, and therefore it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience on domestic roofing works
- Previous experience installing Solar Panels (Desired)
- Experience working on all types of roof including slate, tiled and rosemary
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to work in a team
Salary and Remuneration:
- Salary of GBP35,000 - GBP37,000
