We are working with a successful Service Provider to find a hands-on Network Engineer to join their team in Maidenhead. This is a varied field-based role combining 1st and 2nd line network support with on-site cabling and infrastructure installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st/2nd line network support, diagnosing and resolving connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
  • Install and maintain structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fibre) including pulling, terminating, and testing.
  • Assist with deployment, setup, and configuration of network devices such as switches, routers, and access points.
  • Deliver on-site support for new installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting across client sites.
  • Log and track support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of installations, site visits, and support activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
  • Confident with hands-on tasks including cable pulling, patching, and rack installations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and customer-focused mindset.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
