About The Role
Location: Thornbury / Bristol
Salary: £28,000 per annum / £13.42 per hour
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, start times 08:30am – 16:30pm
Occasional Saturdays may be required
Start times: Flexible
What will I be doing?
Through our waste contract with our client, SUEZ has committed to setting up re-use shops at our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) to resell donated items.
- Managing the daily operations of the re-use shop at Thornbury HWRC and supporting 4 HWRCs in South Gloucestershire.
- Liaising with the Re-Use manager to ensure the shop is fully stocked, items are stored, labelled, and ready for sale.
- Collecting items from the HWRCs, PAT testing electrical items, replenishing stock, and promoting the shop.
This Will Involve You
- Merchandising, organizing, pricing, and presenting donations to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
- Managing stock and communicating needs to the re-use manager.
- Reconciling credit card receipts, processing returns and refunds.
- Arranging collections and deliveries efficiently.
- Maintaining security of the shop and stock.
- Providing excellent customer service to encourage repeat business and ensure smooth shop operations.
What are the requirements?
- Passion for the environment and the re-use project, with retail experience and enthusiasm for customer service.
- Knowledge of recycling and upcycling or willingness to develop it; understanding of stock management, merchandising, and retail financials.
- Flexible attitude towards shift work and occasional weekends.
- Excellent teamwork skills, working closely with site staff.
- Ability to drive a 7.5t lorry.
