Aurora Fairway School is looking to recruit a part-time Receptionist to join our team. Fairway is a warm and welcoming school which places student wellbeing and safety at the heart of our provision. Our students are aged 11-16 years old with a range of complex learning needs including social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication difficulties, and autism.
Key Duties:
- Welcoming and looking after visitors at reception and managing telephone enquiries
- Administration tasks such as diary management and taking deliveries
- Organising meeting rooms
- Helping to process pupil administration
- Copying, collating, preparing and distributing documents
- Typing and setting up documents such as letters and reports
- Keeping computer records up to date
- Maintaining confidentiality and reporting any safeguarding concerns immediately
- Managing post
- Circulation of announcements as required
Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of Fairway School when required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C (or equivalent) to include English and Maths – Preferred)
- Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative role
- Computer literacy – Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and ability to use a range of databases once trained
- Ability to manage own time to deal with multiple tasks
- Discreet, confidential and reliable
