HGV Refuse Driver

Oldham Full-Time No home office possible

Thrive Group Oldham is seeking HGV Refuse Drivers to work for the local authority in and around the Oldham area.

Position Details

Rate of pay: £14.75 per hour
Hours: 7.00am – 5.00pm, Monday – Friday
Location: Oldham and surrounding areas

Purpose of the Job

You will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and high-quality refuse collection service, including recycling activities, in all weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities

Performing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
Operating vehicle power mechanisms
Supervising crew duties and working as part of a team
Ensuring high standards of customer care
Safely maneuvering the vehicle in tight spaces and around obstacles, pedestrians, and parked vehicles

Requirements

Class 2 HGV Licence (CAT C), CPC, and Digi-Tacho
Knowledge of current transport regulations
Professionalism and a polite, friendly manner
Ability to drive in all weather conditions
Leadership qualities and ability to lead by example
Previous waste/refuse experience preferred but not essential (training provided)
