Job Description
The successful candidates will join the Council’s Waste Services team, building on its outstanding achievements to date.
We are looking for true team players who are flexible in their duties, capable of working with others to complete daily workloads, and customer-focused with a positive attitude aimed at improving the local environment.
Requirements
- Hold a clean Cat B driving license, as driving Council vehicles may be required.
- Physically capable of working alongside waste collection vehicles, walking long distances, manually handling waste, and clearing fly-tipped waste from public/private land.
- Capable of lifting bulky items, pushing, and pulling heavy wheeled bins and other waste receptacles regularly.
Additional Duties
As part of the team, you may also be deployed as a Hand Sweeper, which involves walking long distances pushing a heavy hand cart, sweeping footpaths, emptying litter bins, litter picking, and clearing fly-tipped waste.
Safety and Working Conditions
This is a safety-critical role requiring drug and alcohol testing before employment and at random intervals during employment.
The working hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, from 7.15 am to 2.59 pm. You must work outdoors in all weather conditions and occasionally on weekends to ensure service continuity for residents.
