Are you interested in working for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community? Then, you are in the right place!

Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) works in partnership with GP enhanced services offering Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT standard 7) to their patients in the community.

A new support model has been developed to assist both GPs and individuals on MAT, leading to the creation of the Primary Care Recovery Worker role. As a Primary Care Recovery Worker, you will support individuals with low to medium support needs receiving MAT in the community with their GP.

The team will be based centrally within Glasgow City, supporting shared care GPs and their patients across North East, North West, and South Glasgow.

Candidates must have a commitment to supporting people who use drugs and/or alcohol and possess a SVQ Level 3 in Health/Social Care or equivalent. Lived or living experience of recovery from drug and/or alcohol problems will also be considered. Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the qualifications, skills, knowledge, and competencies required.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential upon appointment. Successful candidates will need to pay for their PVG Membership or Scheme Checks.

These roles are exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).

Interviews are scheduled for July 2025.
