Lairage Operative

Overview

Responsibilities

• Daily handling of cattle
• Unloading animals on arrival at the site, adhering to training and policy at all times
• Direct cattle in and out of pens, up the raceways and into the carousel
• Read and correspond numbers and genders from Cattle ear tags
• Clean and wash down the lairage and other facilities
• Maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations.
• Maintain Animal Welfare standards
• Any other associated duties

Qualifications

• Have the ability to work on own initiative whilst also working as part of a team.
• Strive for customer satisfaction
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience of handling a JCB/Loadall would be advantageous
• Reasonable IT skills
• Experience in handling livestock is essential
• Committed to working within the Company Mission, Vision & Values
