Salary: Starting from £23,927.90 per annum (full time equivalent dependant on qualification/s and experience)
We are looking for a part-time Early Years Assistant to join our Bright Horizons Sawbridgeworth Nursery. This role is for lunch cover, which can be flexible, e.g., 10am-3pm, 11am-2pm.
Bright Horizons Sawbridgeworth Nursery is a listed building rated “Good” by Ofsted, situated in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, just a 10-minute walk from the station. The nursery features a rural setting with a garden area and light, airy rooms. Nearby amenities include shops, cafés, and street parking.

What you’ll be doing
- Working as part of a nursery team caring for babies and children up to age 5
- Engaging in daily interactive play, activities, reading, and supporting children’s curiosity through our learning curriculum
- Communicating daily with parents about their child\’s activities
- Providing a caring, safe, and supportive environment where children feel secure
- Supporting colleagues in encouraging children’s development towards key milestones
- Promoting child welfare, protection, health, safety, and safeguarding
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience working with children is preferred but not essential — roles include Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder, or similar
- A passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
- Ability to build trust and strong relationships with colleagues and parents
- Effective communication skills with children and adults
- Understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies
