Veterinary Receptionist - Part Time

Wensum Valley Vets are looking for a motived Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly team. We are a busy equine and farm veterinary practice, situated in a rural setting on the drive to Fakenham racecourse.

About our Receptionist role

You will be required to book appointments for our clients, mainly, over the phone, so a high level of customer service skills is expected at all times, as well as supporting the team with the various day to day tasks required within the practice. In house training and support will be given, but ideally an understanding & knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is an advantage. Ideally, you will have some equine knowledge and experience as there may be a requirement to help with horse handling as part of this role.

Working pattern

This position covers 35.5hrs per week over 4.5 days. The shift pattern is 4 x 08:15-17:00 shifts and 1 x 08:15-13:00 shift, and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 08:30-11:00.

Currently we have 4 Veterinary Surgeons and 4 Support Staff, one of our Vets has an equine dental certificate. We supply Vets to Fakenham Racecourse and Royal Norfolk Show. Several of us have horses and ride and the vets without horses will sometimes ride out on ours. We also have a small animal sister practice in the town (Summerhill Vet Centre).
