Senior Project Engineer – £80,000 SALARY – 100 Days Offshore – Permanent Do you have extensive experience in the laying of cabling on sea beds? If you have this niche skill set then this is a unique opportunity to oversee these exact type of projects for a global leader on a permanent basis. Next year this person will spend around 100 days offshore out at sea overseeing the laying of these cables at great depths, overseeing projects as the lead Engineer. This exciting role will see you board vessels several times a year, allowing you to deliver the project firsthand. It is a rare opportunity for someone with this specific subsea experience and a solid understanding of the entire project lifecycle , including both telecommunications cable laying as well as subsea construction . Salary & Benefits: £80,000 basic salary , depending on your level of submarine cabling project experience. An additional £135 per day for working offshore 45p per mile for mileage when travelling + other great benefits Flexibility to work from home when not offshore, with occasional visits to company offices across the UK. Key Responsibilities: This Senior Project Engineer role will lead the technical delivery of engineering projects, focusing on managing a team for a large installation project. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders , ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards . Your responsibilities will include: Managing and implementing a range of engineering challenges offshore , including termination and testing, fibre optic work, inter-array cable installations, trenching, and dredging works . Financial planning, producing engineering drawings , and writing procedures. Liaising with third-party personnel , conducting data mining , and performing trenching performance analysis . Overseeing subsea operations while ensuring continuous improvement and capturing lessons learned for future projects. What Do You Need? Essential: Experience in subsea/submarine cabling projects , with a focus on cable lay, subsea construction, and telecommunications installation . Strong background in project engineering and leadership with international project work experience. Cable repair experience and the ability to handle work package breakdown, scheduling, and technical project management . Flexibility to spend weeks at a time away from home and travel to various company offices across the UK. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Ideally, a degree in Engineering or related discipline.
