About the Role

We are recruiting for a Residential Support Worker at a well-established Children’s Home in Ashbourne, supporting young people with learning disabilities. This role offers the chance to make a real impact in children’s lives.

Responsibilities

  1. Supporting children with daily routines, personal care, and emotional development.
  2. Encouraging independence and social skills.
  3. Assisting with educational, recreational, and community activities.
  4. Building trusting relationships to promote self-esteem.
  5. Collaborating with families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  6. Contributing to care plans and maintaining records.
  7. Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
  8. Safeguarding children and managing behaviour calmly and consistently.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience with children or young people with learning disabilities (desirable).
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) (advantageous).
  • Patience, resilience, and a passion for child development.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential).
