The Vacancy
Have you ever wanted to join the commercial world as an AQS? If so, this is the opportunity for you!
Here at Wates, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Surveyor to join our WPS team within the responsive maintenance division, working on social housing contracts in the Derby area. You will be working alongside an existing team of surveyors, providing ample opportunities to learn and grow.
We offer hybrid working for this role; however, since the office is in Swadlincote, you should be within commuting distance to the site.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Producing commercial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring timely receipt and assessment of quotations for materials, equipment, and subcontract works; placing orders on advantageous terms to meet project deadlines and business goals
- Completing on-site measurements and take-offs regularly
- Ensuring all contractual processes are completed on time
Candidate Requirements:
We seek someone with a strong work ethic, capable of working under a Project Surveyor and collaborating within a team of surveyors of varying experience levels.
While a degree in surveying is preferred, it is not essential. The key qualities are a willingness to learn, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Applicants will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at offer stage. We evaluate applicants with criminal convictions on a case-by-case basis and are committed to fair treatment regardless of background. Additional pre-employment checks may apply.
