About The Role

Are you a GP looking for a different way of working? If you’d like to spend longer with patients presenting with acute injuries and illness without managing chronic conditions, have you thought about applying for a role in an Urgent Treatment Centre?

The Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre is operational seven days a week, offering clinical consultations to the patients who attend the UTC when GP intervention is required to manage the patients' medical condition in the short/immediate term until the patient is able to obtain an appointment with their own GP or an appropriate referral is made for onward care.

The GP walk-in service is well supported by the highly experienced Nurse/Paramedic Practitioners who are able to see a vast majority of the patient's medical conditions autonomously. To support the Practitioners and the GPs, there are a number of Health Care Assistants and Assistant Practitioners who are also highly qualified and experienced and undertake various clinical tasks.

We are currently seeking a General Practitioner looking for either full-time or part-time hours.

What you’ll be doing

The Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) is open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, offering clinical consultations to the patients who attend when GP intervention is required to manage the patients' medical condition in the short/immediate term until the patient is able to obtain an appointment with their own GP. There are no timed appointments at the UTC which means that you have longer with your patients and little paperwork, and no QOF means that you can go home at the end of your shift!

As a GP in our Portsmouth UTC, you will work within a wider clinical team of experienced Nurse and Paramedic Practitioners assisted by Assistant Practitioners and Health Care Assistants where collaborative team working is actively encouraged.

What we’ll look for in you

As a UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the GMC register and GP Performers List, we will support you with your ongoing CPD and career development. To apply for the role click on the link below. If you have any questions contact Kerry.Mills.

We will contact all shortlisted candidates but please note Practice Plus Group retain the right to remove the advert prior to the closing date if a suitable candidate is appointed.
