We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Motor Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of Motor, Credit Hire, and Third-Party Property Damage claims. The successful candidate will play a key role in the fair and efficient resolution of motor claims while delivering exceptional service to our broker partners and insured customers.
Our client is a specialist challenger insurer operating across the UK. They provide Motor, Property, and Liability insurance to large and medium-sized businesses and the public sector — exclusively through brokers. Key Responsibilities:- Manage a caseload of Motor claims, with a focus on Credit Hire and Third-Party Property Damage, from notification to settlement.
- Investigate liability and assess causation, indemnity, and quantum for all claims.
- Handle third-party interactions, including negotiating settlements and disputing exaggerated or fraudulent claims.
- Liaise with policyholders, brokers, repairers, solicitors, and third-party insurers.
- Ensure all claims are handled in line with internal policies, industry regulation, and service-level agreements.
- Proactively manage the progression of claims to drive timely resolution and minimise indemnity spend.
- Accurately record and manage claims data in internal systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the motor claims team.
- Represent the company in external discussions, including case reviews or insurer collaboration meetings.
- Solid experience in Motor Claims Handling, particularly with Credit Hire and Third-Party Property Damage.
- A working understanding of credit hire principles, protocols, and litigation risk.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
