Exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for medicine and imaging. GVC is currently supporting a well-established, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital in Wales in the recruitment of a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon. This role offers the chance to be part of a progressive, collaborative team that delivers 24/7 care in a highly supportive environment.

The hospital benefits from a busy caseload due to its round-the-clock emergency and critical care service, allowing for the management of a wide variety of interesting and complex cases in-house. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet looking to work in a facility that combines high clinical standards with a warm, team-focused culture.

About the Role:

  • Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (DOE)
  • Employment Type: Full-time preferred, part-time considered
  • Hours: 38.1 per week, including occasional weekend (1 in 5) and bank holiday shifts
  • Work Pattern: 4-day week plus one 9-hour weekend shift every 5 weeks, and one bank holiday shift per year
  • On-Call: None – a dedicated night team handles overnight care
  • Development: Full support for certificate study and ongoing clinical development

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful applicant will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a genuine interest in internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. Confidence in managing complex medical cases and skill in ultrasonography and endoscopy are essential. A certificate holder—or someone working towards one—is highly desirable. In addition to clinical competence, the ideal candidate will be a team player, keen to support and mentor others, with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to collaborative working.
