Do you have experience working within Payroll and looking for a new job in the York area? Are you available to start a maternity contract for circa 9 months? We are working for a well-established manufacturing business in York who are looking for a payroll person to join their friendly finance team.
Working in a small payroll team, you will be supporting with the processing of 2 payrolls for up to 400 employees. We are looking for someone who is willing to work full or part time for this maternity contract.
What the Payroll Job Involves:- Processing 2 payrolls for hourly and salaried staff on a monthly basis.
- Processing starters and leavers including P45s and New Starter Checklists for HMRC.
- Calculating holiday pay in line with current legislation as well as assessing entitlement to statutory payments, such as SMP, SPP, MSP and SSP.
- Uploading pension contributions to their pension provider.
- Processing PAYE payments as well as meeting HMRC submission deadlines.
- Producing P11ds, P60s, P45s and any other tax-related documents.
- Calculating overtime payments with hourly uplifts, bonus payments and salary sacrifice entitlements such as company cars.
- Experience in payroll is essential, although it can be from any industry or sector.
- Excellent communication skills as you will be speaking to people on a daily basis over the phone and via email about their payroll queries.
- Strong numeracy skills with attention to detail.
- Experience using a payroll system such as Sage Payroll or Brightpay.
- Experience of manual clocking in systems and using Excel to check the data.
- Experience with manual timesheets.
This contract could be worked on a full-time or part-time basis between 22 - 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday. Car parking is available. An element of flexible/hybrid working may be ok, however you would need to be on site for the majority of the time due to the manual timesheets and clocking in systems still in use at the moment.
