Your new company Hays has been approached by a Primary School in Wigan seeking a Year 6 class teacher who is available to start from April 2025. The school are looking for a confident and experienced teacher who can come in and hit the ground running to assist the school with SAT’s. This school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is popular throughout the community for its importance of building strong relationships between children, parents and teachers. Your new role As this will be a full-time role, you will be responsible for all lesson planning and delivering and will be required to mark and assess work in order to assist in preparing the pupils to take their SAT’s. These lessons will need to be planned and delivered in line with the English national curriculum. You will need to have good knowledge of teaching SATS based subjects such as Maths, English and Science and be confident in teaching them. You should also be willing to provide extra support for pupils that are behind. What you’ll need to succeed The successful applicant will be an experienced teacher with recent experience within primary education and a working knowledge of Year 6 or KS2 with delivery of SAT Prep will prove beneficial. Subject leadership is desired, but not essential for this role. Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). ECT’s and NQT’s are welcome to apply. What you’ll get in return In return, you will receive a market leading rate of pay (day rate) for the first 3 months. Upon successful completion of this 3-month period, you will be paid in accordance with the main teacher pay scale, based on your previous teaching roles.
