As a Principal Maritime Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing engineering solutions for civil maritime structures, including ports and shipyards. You’ll apply your expertise in steel, concrete, timber, and other materials, working across all project stages from inception to demolition and reuse. Your technical and commercial experience will be crucial in liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success. This is an opportunity to lead with both technical oversight and commercial awareness while mentoring junior staff. You will be working on green ports across the world, protecting the UK coastline and creating a renewable platform for the future.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Be chartered (or on your way to chartership)
  • Maintain your own workload independently whilst mentoring junior team members
  • Be capable of undertaking design from concept to construction.
  • Show strong inter-personal and communication skills – articulate orally and in writing with team members, clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in innovative design solutions – shipyard infrastructure, heavy-duty quays, dry docks, floating docks or shiplifts.
  • Deliver project objectives professionally and consistently.
  • Reflect positive personal values in line with the company’s ethos.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK.
