Administration Office – Ministry of Justice Location: Leeds Hourly rate:£12.53 Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week Assignment runs until 31st March 2025 About the Client: The Ministry of Justice is a major government department, at the heart of the justice system. They work to protect and advance the principles of justice. Their vision is to deliver a world-class justice system that works for everyone in society. What Will Be Your Day to Day Responsibilities? Administrative Officers are assigned to teams to carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system. To do so your duties will include but not be limited to: · Preparing papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings. · Producing court/tribunal documents. · General photocopying and filing. · Creating and updating records on in-house computer system and data input. · Post opening and dispatch. · Booking, preparing and organising meeting rooms. · Preparing meeting agenda, joining instructions and handouts. You will also support in clerking the courtroom, which will involve: · Assisting the judge and managing the courtroom, ensuring it runs smoothly and that everyone is in the right place at the right time. · Implementing any updates and informing the judge. · Speaking aloud in the courtroom and acting as liaison between jury and judge. · Sitting beside the judge and using computers to change slides or show evidence as needed. · Preparing all the case papers for the judge to make sure they are fully prepared for court.
