We are looking for a PBS Practitioner to join our Positive Behaviour Support team at Priory Adult Care. At Priory Adult Care we offer 24/7 specialist care in community settings. Our aim is to deliver support that enables individuals to develop and improve their quality of life outcomes. You will enjoy every opportunity to make a positive impact working with the people we support. The post holder will support a number of services in the Yorkshire region.

The PBS practitioner will work closely with the people we support, colleague teams and stakeholders to develop and deliver Positive Behaviour Support.

The post holder will use their expertise to support predominantly in the following areas:

  • Implementation of Capable Environments including Active Support approaches
  • Development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans including Functional Behaviour Assessment
  • Practice Leadership and Practice workshops
  • Incident support, analysis and colleague debrief
  • Staff training & development

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have extensive experience of direct support experience with people with a learning disability/ Autism
  • Hold a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support i.e. BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies, PBS Graduate Diploma, PBS BTEC Level 5 (advanced professional Diploma)
  • Be qualified or willing and able to work towards PROACT-SCIPr-UK® Instructor

The post holder will require a full UK driving licence to commute between different sites. In addition, the candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Person centred beliefs, values and attitudes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team in a leadership capacity, leading and influencing others positively
  • An in depth understanding of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support and of Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • A history in conducting behavioural assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals
  • A history of reducing the use of restrictive practices
  • A history of the delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training
  • Excellent record keeping and written skills including report writing
  • Detailed understanding of the legal frameworks and policy relevant to the role, e.g. Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS, Safeguarding, risk management
