Do you have experience in a SEND school or PRU? Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take on additional responsibilities? TeacherActive are currently looking to recruit several Higher-Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities school in Southampton. The school supports children aged 5-11 who experience social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, alongside other needs such as ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), and other associated disabilities. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated HLTA who can make a significant impact on the academic and social development of children with SEND. As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers to plan, deliver, and assess learning activities, as well as provide tailored support to students both inside and outside the classroom. The successful Higher-Level Teaching Assistant will have: Proven experience in supporting children with SEND, particularly those with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. A relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent, with strong classroom experience. The ability to support teaching and learning by working independently and with minimal supervision. A caring, patient, and nurturing approach, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and staff. Experience with children who have Autism/ASD, ADHD, or other SEND needs is highly beneficial.
